Dr Mary graduated in 1995 from the University of Sydney and has been caring for families on the north shore ever since. Mary had a vision for a beautiful dental practice where families could come and receive the highest quality care in a warm and welcoming environment. She founded Castle Cove Family Dental in 2007 after working at Sydney University and private practices in Chatswood and Dee Why.
Dr Mary has created and fostered a wonderful team at CCFD and the practice continues to grow. The highlight for Mary is watching her patients grow up, arriving in prams, then graduating from university. Dr Mary has three children who keep her busy on her days off and has a passion for all things food.
Dr Susie and Dr Mary graduated together from Sydney University and have continued to work at Castle Cove Family Dental for the past 16 years seeing the practice and families grow!
Susie has also been working at successful practices in Dee Why and Eastwood and now Pyrmont. She began her journey in the public system and has many years of experience treating children, Senior patients and those with chronic disease, special needs, cancer and dental phobia. Susie has a strong focus on preventive dental care as part of the maintenance of overall health.
Susie is fluent in Korean and has two teenage girls that keep her busy and challenged! Outside of work hours she spends her time with her friends, huge extended family and feeding her colony of cats.
Dr. Mary Tazawa-Lim is a skilled and compassionate dentist, with Bachelor of Dentistry from The University of Sydney. Dr Mary has almost two decades of experience, she provides personalised care to her patients in all areas of general dentistry, from preventative care to cosmetic procedures.
As a mother of three, Dr. Mary understands the importance of a family-friendly dental practice and provides a welcoming and comfortable environment for patients of all ages. She speaks Japanese and committed to providing quality dental care, building strong relationships with her patients.
Dr Tarek undertook his dental studies at the University of Adelaide, and graduated as Dux with High Distinction. He has worked in both Adelaide and Sydney CBD clinics, as well as rural South Australia. During his studies, he has won numerous awards including the prestigious University Medal Moore Medallion, the Australian Dental Association Prize, Dean’s Certificate of Merit, Sir Joseph Verco Memorial Prize, Australian Society of Orthodontists Prize, Lottie & Aileen Connon Scholarship, Malcolm Joyner Prize, and the Henry Schein Halas Prize.
Tarek believes in giving back to the profession, and is a Clinical Lecturer and dental double degree Course Coordinator for the University of Sydney at the Sydney Dental Hospital. He is also actively involved in Endodontic and Orthodontic research projects, currently undertaking an Honours research degree with the University of Adelaide. Each year, Tarek also sits on the panel of interviewers for Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Adelaide.
He enjoys taking his time to develop a fun and comfortable environment for his patients, putting them at ease, and understanding their concerns. Tarek endeavours to offer them the very latest in dental advancements, and loves helping his anxious patients conquer their fears.
In his spare time, he enjoys to catch up with family and friends, bore his wife (and now, son) about dentistry and cars, and endlessly search for the best wood-fired pizza in Sydney.

Megan is a graduate of the University of Sydney. She has had a wealth of experience in both the public and private sectors with particular interest in fixed and removal Prosthodontics and Paediatric dentistry. She enjoys all facets of general Dentistry and has a strong focus on preventive treatments.
Megan is an active member of the Australian Dental Association , the Australian and New Zealand Association of Paediatric Dentistry, the Australian Society of Endodontology and the Northern Suburbs Dental Group. Megan works within the Faculty of Dentistry teaching and training final year dental students ( DMD 4 ) at both Sydney Dental Hospital and Westmead Centre for Oral Health. She has also worked as part of the interviewing team for prospective medical and dental graduates at the University of Sydney and holds an appointment to the Assessment Committee of the Dental Council of NSW. This Committee manages complaints brought to the attention of the Dental Board and ensures safe and effective delivery of dental care to the wider community.
Megan has 4 children and enjoys tennis ,music, ballet and her dog Molly.
Dr Nicky graduated from University of Otago in New Zealand. She has worked in private practices in Sydney and Auckland and has also worked for a number of years in Redfern as a senior dentist at The Aboriginal Medical Service.
Nicky has extensive experience and interest in Minor Oral Surgery. She also enjoys all aspects of general and family dentistry. She lives on the lower North Shore and has 2 young children.
Dr Melissa graduated with a Bachelor of Dental Science from Charles Sturt University after completing a Bachelor of Oral Health from Sydney University. Having practiced in several remote locations across rural NSW and being part of the dental team at Westmead Centre for Oral Health, she enjoys all aspects of patient treatment but has a particular focus on treating families and children, and educating her patients in all aspects of oral health.
Outside the clinic, Melissa enjoys keeping fit and socialising with friends by playing mixed oz-tag and taking part in fun-runs! She has a very warm personality and will really make you feel comfortable at your dental appointments.
Gaby is our wonderful hygienist, graduated in Venezuela with a bachelor of Dentistry. She practiced as a Dentist for 5 years before immigrating to Australia more than 20 years ago.
Gaby studied and worked at the University of Adelaide to become a hygienist in 2007. She is very keen to be up to date in terms of education and Dental disease prevention, and is a member of the Dental Hygiene association. Gaby lives locally and is a busy mum of two beautiful children.
Miranda is our bubbly energetic dental nurse that assists all the dentists in our practice.
Miranda not only is a great nurse and a busy mum but she too loves cooking and sharing her many recipes.
My name is Rosalie and I have been a part of the CCFD reception team since its establishment by Mary in 2013. As a resident of Castle Cove since 1954, I have extensive knowledge about the area.
I am driven by a desire to help others and provide care and have a talent for making even the most anxious patients feel comfortable and at ease, regardless of their age. If you require support navigating the public transportation system, I am the person to turn to.
Rebecca, our amazing practice manager, resides on the Northern Beaches. She is a proud mother of two boys and enjoys spending time with family and friends.
In her free time, she loves to stay active by going for runs, which she finds to be a great way to unwind.
Tilly is our amazing Saturday receptionist that started with Castle Cove Family Dental in 2021 and fill in dental assistant.
Tilly is currently studying a Bachelor of Science at Sydney Uni, majoring in Environmental Studies and French loves spending time with family and friends and travelling.

Make An Appointment
Castle Cove Family Dental is located in Deepwater Road Castle Cove. Nestled in a quiet little set of shops, we can be found off Holly Street opposite the Carlisle Swim Centre.
We are situated very close to Castle Cove Public Primary School. Parking is available at the Deepwater Road shops for shorter appointments and you can find extended parking for longer appointments in surrounding streets. Parking can be a little difficult around 9am and 3pm due to the proximity to the local primary school so allow a little extra time.
